DO YOU HAVE MISTLETOE ON YOUR TREES?
Phoradendron leucarpum, commonly known as American mistletoe is a stem parasite that attaches to oaks, pecans, hickory trees and several other hardwood trees. There is no doubt when it grows with its haustorium permeating the conductive tissues of its hosts branches that it robs the tree of the nutrients intended for it. A tree that is infested with mistletoe may die due to it not receiving sufficient nutrients.
The optimum time of year to eradicate the mistletoe is when the trees are dormant.
